Illinois Revenue Alliance
We are a coalition of labor unions, community-based organizations, and legal advocacy centers.
Founded in 2024, we’re advocating for sustained and equitable revenue streams to fund essential programs that help low- and moderate-income families thrive.

The Problem
Illinois’ projected 2026 budget cuts will cut critical programs.
Our communities shouldn’t be forced to choose whether we’re going to fund health care, transit, or education. We can have all of these things as long as we build the political will to generate new revenue by taxing corporations and the rich.
- Immigrant services
- Fully funding schools
- Strengthening public transit operations
- Protecting health care access for all
- Senior home care
- Improving the child tax credit and direct cash assistance
- Re-entry employment programs
- Violence prevention
- Affordable housing
Did you know?
Illinois’ tax system is currently the 8th most unequal in the country and the most unequal in the Midwest.
Low-income households pay over double the percentage of their income to state and local taxes as those in the top 1%.
If passed today, Illinois’ proposed 2026 budget will cut essential programs that our families and communities need to thrive.
The Solution
We’ve identified $6 billion being left on the table from big corporations and the wealthiest Illinoisans.
Let’s make them pay their fair share.
We’re Fighting Back

On April 15, Tax Day, over 300 people called on state officials to demand that Illinois fight back against the Trump administration and hold the super-wealthy accountable.
